The Airport Company has released its third CR report, covering all activities and initiatives undertaken between January and December 2005. It depicts the company's will and ability to deliver sustainable value to all Stakeholders.

This year's Report was created in line with the prevailing global standard for sustainability reporting, the Guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). Adopting this standard allows the company to approach corporate responsibility in a structured, measurable and transparent manner.

Athens International Airport is an organisation of two-fold nature: that of a company with a dynamically developing economic value, and of a public benefit organisation in the strategic sector of Greek infrastructure.

Corporate responsibility has constituted part of the corporate culture since the first day of operation. CR strategy is implemented in a measurable and systematic manner, as defined in the respective corporate responsibility policy.

Communicating corporate responsibility through this Report conforms to the Corporate Governance scheme and the transparency characterising the company's operations. At the same time the expressed volition of the company to "go beyond" the contractual obligations, by making commitments and putting forth innovative practices, contributes to the promotion of new models of business activities within this field.

The Report is considered an important communication vehicle. It projects the company's socially and environmentally conscious profile in a context of efficient corporate governance towards a wide audience including: employees, business partners, press and Local Communities. Moreover, for the company itself, drafting the report is a continuous process of self-assessment.
